How to set up Hiya Spam Blocker for Android

Install Hiya Spam Blocker

1. Go to the "Hiya: Spam Blocker" page in the Google Play Store and tap Install

2. Open the app follow the on-screen instructions

Set Hiya as your default phone app

To block and identify calls, Hiya Spam Blocker needs to be your default phone app:

1. When prompted, tap Set Default Phone App (or go to Settings → Apps → Default apps → Phone app → Hiya)

2. To show Caller ID over other screens, allow "Draw over other apps" when prompted

Set up blocking

1. Tap the Blocking tab at the bottom

2. Tap Block List and use the + button to add numbers

3. Turn on automatic spam & nuisance blocking (Premium): open the Premium tab and enable Spam Blocking

On older versions of the app, blocking options can be found via Settings → Call Settings.

Allow your contacts

Go to Settings → Call Settings and make sure "Calls from saved contacts" is set to Do nothing so your contacts always ring through.

Note: Hiya only uses your phone's contact list to appropriately handle calls. We do not use or share contact information for any other purpose.
