The Lookup feature lets you enter any phone number and see what Hiya Spam Blocker knows about it — including spam and scam reputation, and for Premium subscribers, the name or identity associated with the number.
How to look up a number
On iPhone
Tap the Lookup tab (magnifying glass icon in the bottom navigation bar)
Type or paste a phone number
Hiya Spam Blocker displays what's known about that number
This screen may be labeled "Lookup" or "Phone number lookup,” depending on your app version.
On Android
Tap the Keypad tab
Type a phone number
Tap the Lookup button that appears below the number
Hiya Spam Blocker displays what's known about that number
You can also view your recent lookups: tap the history icon on the Keypad screen.
What the results show
Basic users: Free app users will see spam and scam reputation, risk ratings, and whether the number has been flagged by other Hiya Spam Blocker users. If Hiya Spam Blocker has name data for a number, you can choose to upgrade to a Premium subscription to access the additional information.
Premium users: Premium users will see name or identity information from the Hiya Spam Blocker database, in addition to data available to Basic users. Premium name lookups draw from a monthly allowance that resets at the start of each month.
If the number is already in your contacts: Hiya Spam Blocker shows your saved contact name rather than the Hiya Spam Blocker database result. To see the database result for a contact's number, you would need to temporarily remove it from your contacts.
Troubleshooting
Results are slow or the screen is stuck loading:
Check your internet connection
Force-close and reopen the app
Update the app — each release includes performance improvements
"Upgrade to see" still showing after subscribing:
Make sure your Premium subscription is active: on Android, open the Premium tab and tap Restore; on iPhone, go to Settings → Contact & Support → Restore subscription
If your subscription shows as active but lookups are still blocked, try uninstalling and reinstalling, then restoring your subscription again
