Hiya Spam Blocker uses your phone's contact list to let calls from your saved contacts bypass filtering and call screening. Any number saved to your contacts can ring through to your phone — unless that number is also on your Block List.
Note: Hiya only uses your phone's contact list for this purpose. We do not use or share contact information for any other purpose.
Open Hiya Spam Blocker → Settings → Call Settings and set "Calls from saved contacts" to Do nothing.
Open Hiya Spam Blocker → Settings and turn on Allow contacts. When it's on, Hiya won't block or flag numbers in your contacts unless they're on your Block List.
On your Android device, open Settings → Apps → Hiya → Permissions
Tap Contacts and select Allow
On your iPhone, open Settings → Apps → Hiya → Contacts
Tap Full Access
Note: Contacts access is required for Call Screener to work properly on iPhone.
Check your Block List first — a contact that's also on your Block List will still be blocked. Remove them there. See How to block and unblock specific numbers.
If you block area codes or prefixes (Android): open your Block List and turn on Allow contacts through, so saved contacts matching a blocked range still ring.
If you use Call Screener and contacts are being screened: set Screen calls from to Unknown callers only (Settings → Call Screening & Visual Voicemail on Android; Call Screener settings on iPhone).
Confirm the number is saved exactly as it's calling, including country code.
If the setting won't stay set (it keeps reverting), update to the latest version. If the problem continues, contact support.
