You may have received a message saying that Hiya is receiving your calls. This is our way of letting you know that you have not recently reviewed calls in the app when forwarding is enabled.
Hiya Spam Blocker routes unknown and unanswered calls to the app via conditional call forwarding — a carrier-level instruction that tells your mobile carrier “if this call goes unanswered, forward it to Hiya Spam Blocker.” Hiya Spam Blocker provides help disabling this when you uninstall the app. If Hiya Spam Blocker was removed without deactivating Call Screener, the call forwarding instruction can remain on your carrier line indefinitely.
No. If Hiya Spam Blocker is installed and you can view your recent calls or voicemails, there is nothing for you to do. If you suspect anything is wrong, you can make sure that conditional call forwarding is enabled.
If you removed Hiya Spam Blocker but want to begin using it again:
Reinstall Hiya Spam Blocker from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
Open Hiya Spam Blocker and sign in with the same phone number you used before. Your account is tied to your number, not an email or password.
Complete phone-number verification if prompted.
Choose “Restore purchase” during setup or on the app’s Settings screen
To use Call Screener and Visual Voicemail: in Hiya Spam Blocker, go to Settings → Call Screener (iPhone) or Settings → Call Screening & Visual Voicemail (Android) and tap Activate, then follow the instructions.
iOS users with an active Premium subscription can access voicemails associated with their account by reinstalling the app following the steps above. Remember to choose “Restore Purchase” to view past voicemails.
Due to Android security restrictions, Android users cannot retrieve voicemails associated with their account after the app has been removed.
These instructions apply to both iPhone and Android.
To disable all call forwarding for your number, dial one of these codes from your device’s default Phone app:
Verizon: *73
AT&T / T-Mobile: ##004#
Other carriers: Try ##004# or ##21#
If you have other services using forwarding (like third-party voicemail apps or second-number apps), you may need to re-configure those afterward.
Dial code: ##002# — clears all conditional forwarding on AT&T
On iPhone: go to Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding and turn the switch off. Note: this toggle controls unconditional forwarding only — dial ##002# to clear Hiya Spam Blocker’s conditional forwarding
Online: sign in at att.com, go to your account, and check Manage Features → Call Forwarding
If the code returns an error, call AT&T at 611 and ask them to remove all conditional call forwarding from your line
Dial code: ##002# — clears all conditional forwarding on T-Mobile
On iPhone: go to Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding and turn the switch off (unconditional only — also dial ##002# to be safe)
T-Mobile app: go to Account → Line Settings → Call Forwarding and disable it
If ##002# returns no confirmation, try ##004#, which targets conditional (no-answer/busy/unreachable) forwarding specifically
You can also contact T-Mobile at 611 and ask them to clear conditional call forwarding from your line
Dial code: *73 — clears all conditional forwarding on Verizon LTE and 5G plans
On iPhone: go to Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding and turn the switch off (also dial *73 to clear conditional forwarding)
My Verizon app: go to Account → Manage Device → Call Forwarding and turn it off
Older Verizon CDMA plans (3G or earlier) may not respond to *73. Contact Verizon at 611 and ask them to clear conditional call forwarding from your line
##002# gives a “call failed” or “not supported” error: your carrier may not support that MMI code. Use the carrier’s app or website to manage call forwarding, or call carrier support directly.
iOS Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding shows “Off” but calls still route to Hiya Spam Blocker: the iOS Settings toggle controls unconditional forwarding (all calls); Hiya Spam Blocker uses conditional forwarding (unanswered calls only), which may not be reflected in that toggle. Use the instructions above to disable call forwarding.
Contacting your carrier’s support by dialing 611 is the most reliable way to immediately turn off all call forwarding for your phone.
If you have followed the instructions above and are still having issues with calls and voicemails being forwarded to Hiya Spam Blocker, you can email our support team at [email protected] for further assistance.
