Call Screener requires a Premium subscription and Android v15.0.0 or later. To set up or turn off Call Screener, see How to use Call Screener on Android.
If Call Screener isn't behaving as expected, try the steps below.
If the app isn't blocking calls or showing caller ID at all, start with Hiya Spam Blocker is not working on my Android device — it covers app updates, the default phone app, permissions, and battery settings.
A call shows “screening” for a long time, or screening runs after you snoozed it:
If you snoozed screening, open the Call Screener status row and tap End now
Turn Screen my calls off and back on (Settings → Call Screening & Visual Voicemail)
If it's still stuck, restart your phone and confirm you're on the latest version
Open Settings → Call Screening & Visual Voicemail and tap Deactivate — the app removes call forwarding from your carrier line. Reactivate if you still want screening.
If calls are still forwarded afterward, see Call forwarding and accessing voicemails to clear it manually
In Screen calls from, choose Unknown callers only so calls from your contacts ring through. See How to allow all calls from your contacts.
If you're receiving no calls, calls are being sent back to the people calling you, or screening is stuck after the steps above, contact support via Settings → Help and Support in the app.
